The First Genes & Diseases Editorial Board Meeting in 2015
The First Editorial Board Meeting of Genes & Diseases was successfully held on 11th April 2015 in Chongqing, China,
at the time of the annual meetings of the International Genes & Diseases Symposium. Nine editorial members from the
United States, UK and Canada along with 6 subject editors attended the meeting. The meeting aims to discuss strategies
for promoting journal’s visibility and impact as well as make publishing plans for the next year.
Professor T.-C. He, the Editor-in-Chief T.-C. He addressed the attendees and made the opening remarks. Professor Sherry
Luo , the managing editor gave a work report of editorial office while Dr. Sean Zuo made a presentation on progresses Genes &
Diseases have made over the last few months. With continuous efforts of all editors and experts, the journal has made progress
in various aspects, including increased submissions of NIH supported manuscript, enlarged readership, increased downloads, etc.
All attendees proposed suggestions for the further development of this journal from their own perspectives and showed great
enthusias in making contributions to the journal. After thorough discussion, the detailed strategies as well as guest editors for
the next year were determined.
To summarize, the editorial board meeting of Genes & Diseases successfully planned for the future development of this journal.
If efficiently carried out, those measures would surely assist this journal to be a more international and scientific journal in the field
of molecular and translational medicine.
